Happy New Year Goal Chasers! After living part of my best life in Dubai for 7 days which I then extended to 10 days, MsFitQueen is back in the UK. Still trying to adjust, still feeling very blue and still dealing with what is proving to be the toughest lockdown for me personally.
I feel as though all my senses are heightened which leaves me on edge. However, I am also quite numb which makes me feel hollow on the inside. Lol, apologies for not being the Queen of positivity but, this is how I feel right now.
We are now going into the February and I am so thankful to God, my friends, family and online ‘Goal Chasers’ for getting me through this month. One thing I can say is that, I am never short on people cheering for me, being kind and showing love. Whether it is in regards to me as a Fitness Trainer, my random rants, my quirks and dancing or just exuding good genuine vibes. I have cultivated a Tribe where it’s okay to be MYSELF and now I am encouraging others to also Be the Best Version of themselves – (cough cough…Feel free to get your cropped slogan Hoody and Sweaters).
The Snatched Queen challenge has held me accountable for the past fortnight and wow, the ladies have completely made this challenge worth it. We decided to shake off the January Slump a.k.a ‘Slumpuary’ and exercise consistently for the 14 days. I will go into this in a separate post. However, if you would like to join the next challenge, order your Waist Snatcher and get ready!
I feel as though I am dealing with a lot mentally, great things are happening and I am thankful…Yet, I’m just meh. Is that okay?! I think that because a lot of people always see me as energetic and full of beans, they forget that I have crappy days and sometimes just want to sit and cry as well. As someone who has dealt with depression, I am very familiar with low moods. Whenever I feel it creeping up, I try to stay busy and hope that it will subside.
I say this to remind you, that it’s okay not to be okay. Productivity does help, so that you always have something to look forward to and something great to look back on. Even if it’s one small task per day. Also, stay in contact with your loved ones. You actually don’t know what people are going through internally and how they are coping with these life altering changes. Finally, try your best to stay active throughout lockdown. Your routine may have changed if you’re a frequent gym-goer or attend classes. However, the internet can be a godsend for your fitness regime.
For example, I am a Fitness Trainer on Body By Ciara Squad subscription page and we go hard in our sessions. At present, I may not be able to leg press 100kg in the gym but, with a few tools at home I can hit 100 reps in squats. As humans, we are built to adjust and thrive under pressure. So find new things that make you happy during this time, prepare for the life that you want to live post lockdown and stay active.
